Despite wide spread floods across much of the UK motorists are still gambling with their lives by attempting to drive through the water.
Unsurprisingly, it's 4x4 drivers who are attracting the most attention from the police with a number of drivers purposely ignoring 'Road Closed' signs to wade through standing floodwater.
Inspector for Gloucester Roads Policing, Jason Keates, said: "We cannot stress strongly enough the importance of adhering to these road closures.
"We understand it's frustrating when your journey is delayed by having to find an alternative route but the closures are in place for good reason.''
Insp Keates had an additional warning for drivers of larger vehicles, such as 4x4s: "Whilst your vehicle might get through the water it causes a bow wave, which in turn can lead to flooding in nearby properties."
Offroader owners were also highlighted by Gloucester Police for causing additional damage to homes on Sandhurst Lane and Toadsmore Hill after ignoring diversions and road closures.
Solihull Police highlighted the stress each driver can have on the emergency services, tweeting: "Unfortunately Paramedics, the Fire Service & our officers are all now tied up dealing with a driver stuck on a flooded road. Drive SENSIBLY."
They later added: "Lewis Hamilton drives a much better car than you but a wet road led to him crashing off. Drive carefully this evening please."
Insp Keates warned all drivers that: "Under no circumstances should you drive through flood water - you do not know how deep it is, or what is under it."
All drivers are being given the following advice by the police:

All drivers are being given the following advice by the police:
· Listen to local radio bulletins for road closures before setting off
· Leave extra time for a journey if it is necessary
· Make sure you're prepared if you get caught in a traffic jam - with enough fuel, your mobile phone battery fully charged, and food and drink
· Be wary of high winds and the extra risks they may bring
· Take extra care if driving through standing water alongside pedestrians or cyclists
