Aston Martin DB4GT Coupe
A race-prepared Aston Martin DB4GT Coupe is set to be the star of the show next month as it goes under the hammer.
One of only 30 Left-hand drive models built by Aston Martin, this 1961 DB4GT Coupe is expected to fetch between 1.1 million - 1.4 million euros (About £1.15m) at Bonham's next auction in France.

Just one of many dazzling lots at the 'drive through' auction on 2 Feb at La Halle Freysinnet, the Aston Martin will attract interest both for its stunning looks and racing pedigree.

Chassis number '0412/L' was originally shipped to the US in January 1961 where it went through the hands of three owners before returning to the UK in 1994.

Upon arrival, it received a full restoration and engine displacement was upped to 4.2 litres. The current owner, a member of a noble European family, entered the DB4GT into the Tour Auto and the Concorso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este in 2001.

A further refurbishment in 2004 involved extensive bodywork repairs, a full strip-down and respray and mechanical overhaul. The car was also fitted with a competition fuel tank, but comes with the original tank and front and rear bumpers.

A regular feature in the Tour Auto special stages mapped out in France, this Aston has achieved two third places, three 5th places and an outright victory in the Regularity Class in 2005, allowing drivers to pick from three different average speeds to consistently match.

It is also a regular at historic racing events such as the Goodwood Revival and the AMOC Championship race.

'O412/L' has an impeccable service record and will be sold with a copy of the factory build sheet, sundry restoration/service invoices and FIVA Identity Card.
