The next generation Kia C'eed is to be unveiled at this year's Geneva Motor Show and Kia has sent out the first image of the all-new car.
The new design points to Kia being more 'grown up' than before. The current car, and Top Gear's Reasonably Priced Car, is set to shuffle off in June, when deliveries of the new car begin.
The press release for the new C'eed is rather brief, but does contain this rather jazzy line: "New Kia cee'd combines styling typically found on a sporty coupé with the space and functionality of a five-door hatch".
Oh dear, Kia, you want us to think your new hatchback is a coupe. Much like Volvo wants us to think the V60 is a coupe. And, come to think of it, Vauxhall wants us to think the Astra GTC is coupe. It's not, it's a hatchback. A modern, pretty one, but still a hatchback.
However, the new design does cut a rather fine figure. The bonnet looks rather chunkier than before, perfectly framing the Kia Tiger Nose grille. The air dams are pretty dramatic, too, as are the swept back headlamps.
In summary... we like it, but we do with Kia would remember that it's a HATCHBACK, not a coupe (or coupe-like). Be proud of what you are, Kia!
