Caterham
The company, which is also represented in Formula One, is making the free pack available to buyers of the first 40 Seven orders taken from today.
Adding hand-tailored leather seats along with other stylish touches, the bespoke pack certainly looks comfier than the original Seven from 1957, which was the brainchild of legendary Lotus engineer Colin Chapman.
Lucky customers also receive a special grey paint to the chassis to replicate the original Lotus Seven, ruby red paint with white bonnet stripes, leather for the seats and dashboard, a special '40YOC' embossed ignition key and new 15-inch alloy wheels with '40YOC' markings.
The pack is available on any car in the Seven range, from the nimble Roadsport 125 priced at £19,995 to the bombastic and slightly mental Superlight R500.
The £42,495 R500 has 263bhp and takes just 2.88 seconds to hit 60mph from a standstill. It's all a far cry from the 40bhp used in Colin Chapman's model that was based on the philosophy of 'simplify, then add lightness'.
Caterham bought the rights to build the seven in 1973, and the company continued to develop the car with more power and more sophisticated components, although the styling remained the same.
Luxury has never been that high up the priorities list thank to the performance focus of Caterham's line-up but this limited edition pack should appeal to those wanting a little more sophistication in their Seven.
