The power increase means this even sportier version of the glorious Vantage is the fastest standard production car in Aston Martin's long and illustrious history.
But it is not just changes under the bonnet that make this an exciting prospect; subtle tweaks to the exterior styling refresh the entire package.
The front grille, for example, has been inspired by the recent CC100 concept while more pronounced side fins fashioned from carbon fibre further increase road presence.
The awesome power and performance can't be ignored and thanks to three new driving modes, the character of the car can be altered at the flick of a switch.
In Normal mode, the car remains fairly refined and useable in everyday situations but those wanting something more raucous can flick the Sport mode to sharpen throttle response, add weight to the steering and firm up the dampers.
The final Track mode is reserved only for the brave as it unleashes the machine's full potential.
The official 0-62mph time is yet to be confirmed but potential customers can expect it to be somewhere around the 4-seconds mark.
Top speed is a completely unlimited 205mph, while official torque figures are a face-melting 620Nm.
Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Dr Ulrich Bez said: "The new V12 Vantage S is, simply, pure Aston Martin. It is extreme in its nature yet truly timeless in its design language.
"Learning from our successes on the track feeds the development of this type of car and I'm proud to launch such an exciting sports car in this, our centenary year."
