A New Mexico man is facing multiple driving charges after crashing his car, while drunk, speeding and having sex at the wheel.
25-year-old Louis Briones was found wearing just his shorts - which were inside out - after Police attended the scene of an accident, in which he wrote-off his Ford Explorer SUV.
The collision caused his partner, who was completely naked, to be ejected through the windscreen. She was found lying on the pavement and was subsequently taken to hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
It is alleged that Briones attempted to flee the scene in the car wrecked car after the collision, but was prevented by a quick-thinking witness who snatched his keys from the ignition.
The Albuquerque Journal reported that he then attempted to evade authorities by hiding behind a cactus.
Briones now faces nine charges, including aggrevated DWI (driving while intoxicated), reckless driving and evading police, after initially being witnessed running a red light with a naked woman on his lap, before smashing into a car crossing a junction.
The man who challenged Briones told local news channel KOAT that he became hosile towards police and paramedics and refused to keep his trousers on after being placed in the back of a police car.
The injured lady will not be facing any charges.
