Raheem Stirling charged by DVLA over sold MercedesPA

Liverpool and England football player Raheem Sterling has been charged by the DVLA after failing to inform them that he had sold a car.

Wirral Magistrates' Court heard that the 18-year-old had not completed documents detailing the sale of a Mercedes-Benz ML350 SUV, for the DVLA.
If found guilty Sterling faces a maximum penalty of a £1,000 fine.

He was not in court for the start of his hearing.

The Liverpool Echo reported that the case had been postponed on the DVLA's request, so that it could inform its press office about the situation.

The case has been adjourned until September 23.

The Jamaican-born footballer is likely to become increasingly familiar with the court system over the next few months, as he is due to stand trial over the assault of his girlfriend, 19-year-old model Shana Ann Rose.

He pleaded not guilty and was bailed. He will stand trial at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on September 20.

His legal problems seemingly haven't affected his footballing career, with Sterling putting in a solid effort during England's 6-0 dismantling of Scotland's under-21s last night.
