This year's Goodwood Revival will play host to the glorious engine notes of the revered Silver Arrows barrelling around a British motor circuit for the first time in 75 years.
Six models have already been confirmed for the festival (14-16 September) and some well-known top-level racing drivers will be giving it their all in the Arrows to mark this occasion as one of the highlights of the year. Jochen Mass and Martin Brundle are just two racers who organisers hope to confirm later this year.
The Mercedes-Benz W25, W125, W154 and W165 and Auto Union Type C and Type D models will race on the grid and Goodwood promises that this event will be 'the biggest thing in motorsport history'.
A carefully choreographed race will see the cars at full speed, with period competition such as Rileys, MGs and ERAs trying to catch up, creating a historic tribute to a time when German machinery absolutely dominated the competition.
It will be the first time that the famous Silver Arrows race together since the Yugoslav Grand Prix, held the day after WWII broke out.
Throughout the weekend, the cars will also be on display in authentic paddocks alongside period transporters that recreate the look of the Swiss Bremgarten circuit, a celebrated race in the 1935-1939 European Championship and widely regarded as one of the most challenging in the world.
