After a disappointing qualifier in the dismal weather at Silverstone earlier today, Caterham driver Heikki Kovalainen is hopeful that this weekend could be the first time his team scores points this season.

The 30-year old Finnish driver will start at 19th position on the grid behind team-mate Vitaly Petrov, who out-qualified Kovalainen after both drivers only managed to get out on the track in Q1.

It was the first chance for the Finn to try out the new body and exhaust upgrades on his car since Valencia, but any real evaluation of the car's feel and improvements were scuppered by a soaked track.

Speaking to Autoblog earlier in the week, Kovalainen was realistic about this weekend's expectations: "I'd like to see us catching the midfield, its really close when you're in that running," he said. "We want to be mixing with the cars ahead of us regularly, but we're heading in the right direction and we've got to keep the momentum up.

Asked whether this is the weekend where Caterham will score their first points, he said: "There's always a chance, but realistically I don't expect us to be there yet. We're not there yet. Of course, if there is an opportunity we must be there to take it.

"If anything unusual does happen and it rains, who knows? We've got to be there ready to take the chance."
