If it Hertz to say goodbye to your rental car, why not buy it?

Have you ever bonded with your rental car so much that you've considered spending your hard-earned on buying the same car?

One of the largest names in the car hire business has launched a new online used vehicle sales programme. Hertz's Rent2Buy programme allows members of the public to buy well-maintained ex-rental cars.

Prospective buyers can take a test drive for up to 10 days to ensure the car fits the bill, and if they buy it, the trial is provided as a free rental. If they decide to hand it back, they just pay a reduced rental fee.

The vehicles are often available at prices lower than those listed by valuations firm Parkers suggest. And, because of this, "there is no need to haggle" on the screen price.

Rui Ferreira, vice president, Fleet Remarketing for Hertz International, said: "We offer low mileage, high-specification vehicles in excellent condition with meticulous maintenance records.

"Customers have a unique, 10-day test drive option to determine if the vehicle suits their needs and lifestyle. If you're looking to buy a used car, it's tough to beat the Hertz Rent2Buy programme."
